Doreen DeStefano, (Dr. D) has always been about health and wellness.  From youthful beginnings as a competitive bodybuilder with a bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology, to her second doctorate just this year, it’s been a journey of health and wellness.  The incarnations in health have been numerous, including training, education, and careers as a certified personal trainer, EMT, LME, LPN, BSRN, APRN, NHD, and DNP.  She holds numerous degrees and certifications in integrative therapies.  Eighteen years ago, Dr. D created Integrated Skin Care, treating the skin from the inside out with proper nutrition and lifestyle modification.

As a result of her own profound illness, Dr. D dove deeper in naturopathic medicine, and discovered her soul there.  As her skills and knowledge grew and developed, her client base completely morphed with her into holistic health and medicine.  Though her love for aesthetics remains, her drive to resolve the root cause of illness was more profound, and Root Causes Holistic Health and Medicine came into being.  After many happy holistic years, the unthinkable happened; Dr. D’s dad got cancer.  She dove in deeper still, learning as much as possible about integrative oncology and how to successfully apply it.  It was then that she learned about the Metabolic Approach to Cancer. Dad is alive, well, and full of just a little mischief today!  The journey continues to find, and artfully and scientifically apply the best possible integration of therapies for each patient. These therapies come from all over the globe, and across many modalities.

Dr. D operates from the premise of tabula rasa, meaning that each case is developed from a blank slate.  Each protocol is different, and a work in progress that changes (or not) in response to outcome.  At the center of each protocol is the receiver and not the provider.  Together we work to optimize your health, whatever that may be.
