About
My journey to the Metabolic Approach to Cancer began in 2017, after my mom was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. After being told her cancer was “just bad luck,” I began researching, participating in message boards, and talking to anyone I could to find answers. While doing my research, I found The Metabolic Approach to Cancer by Dr. Nasha Winters. Dr. Nasha’s book explained how, rather than a genetic defect, most cancers were a metabolic process. With this new knowledge, I began to understand that my mom’s cancer wasn’t just an unlucky coincidence, but rather had taken root years prior and how there were warning signs we missed along the way. Working one-on-one with Dr. Nasha, we began to implement many additional therapies to support my mom as she underwent surgery, chemotherapy and then recovered from treatment. With Dr. Nasha’s help, we assessed her entire terrain and began to make changes that would shift her health, improve her terrain, and make her body less hospitable to cancer. Those approaches made a world of difference. My mom experienced very few lasting side effects and looked healthier at the end of her treatment than in the years prior. She continues to work with a terrain-trained doctor, monitoring her bloodwork every three months and making changes where necessary. Witnessing firsthand the difference a metabolic approach to cancer made in my mom’s life, I enrolled in Dr. Nasha’s Terrain Advocate Program so that I could support and help others to implement the same therapies that made such a difference for my mom. Change is a necessary part of the metabolic approach to cancer. But making diet and lifestyle changes, finding practitioners, ordering regular lab work, and employing new therapies can be overwhelming and challenging. Sometimes it can be difficult to know how — or where — to start. As a certified terrain advocate, I partner with you. Working with your personalized healing plan created by a terrain-trained practitioner, I help you adopt and implement the necessary changes to improve your terrain. Whether it’s sourcing supplements, ordering lab work, assisting with low-carb or ketogenic diet changes, or digging deeper to provide guidance and suggestions on important lifestyle changes, my goal is to help alleviate the overwhelm as you navigate your healing journey and ensure you are set up for success.
